For a novice there are many different kinds of choices and options like split shot, which are inexpensive, easy to use and versatile which has been recommended by the experienced anglers like hooks. You can purchase several sizes of removable split shot and squeeze them on with your pliers. Traditionally most sinkers have been made of lead, but now anglers are getting more environmentally friendly alternatives, such as bismuth and tin slowly.

Bobbers and Floats

Basically the Bobbers or floats attach to your line to perform two things: they keep your bait suspended at a particular level, and they jerk, dance or "bob" to indicate a bite by the fish. Small balls bobbers are clipped on the line at the bottom and the top that are easy to use, as well as the longer stick floats.

Snap Swivels

Mostly Snap swivels basically execute two stuffs also. They keep your line from twisting and twirling, particularly with lures that spin, and when tied to the end of your line, they allow you to easily switch hooks and lures. According to the experienced anglers swivels are attached to specific lures.
